Do I need to know accounting?
No. There are no debits, credits, or journal entries — you record money in and money out, pick a category, and ZealTrak keeps the running picture. If you can keep a notes app, you can keep these books.
Is it really free?
Yes — the Free plan includes 30 money in/out entries a month, receipts, and your dashboard, forever. The counter resets on the 1st of each month, and if you hit the cap nothing is deleted or hidden; recording just pauses until the month resets or you upgrade.
Can I send invoices with it?
No — ZealTrak is a record of money that has already moved, not an invoicing tool. If you bill clients elsewhere, log the payment when it lands and your books stay accurate.
What if I start selling products later?
Switch the same business from “Transactions only” to full tracking in settings — sales, inventory, and marketplace imports appear, and every entry you’ve already recorded stays exactly where it is. Switching back hides those screens again without touching your data.
